Step-By-Step

Share Your Space

Send your measurements, budget, photos and inspiration images. No plans yet? We'll guide you — or stop by to measure, if you're local.

We Design

Our team translates your space and inspiration into a colorized plan — layout, material selections and shoppable item list — shaped by the same eye behind every Kaage home.

You Approve

We walk you through the design — virtually or in our Workshoppe — and refine it together until it's exactly right. Two rounds of revisions included.

Shop The Plan

You receive a complete shoppable list: every piece, every finish, every link. Yours to order on your timeline, or to hand to your contractor.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between Guided Design and Full Service?

+
Full-Service is our private client offering: we design, source, manage, and install — start to finish, in your home. You hand us the keys; we hand you back a finished space. Guided Design is our scoped, collaborative service: we translate your space and inspiration into a plan — layouts, finishes, and a shoppable list — that you (or your contractor) execute on your own timeline. It's the same eye, scaled to fit a different budget and pace. The simplest way to think about it: with Full-Service, we do it. With Guided Design, we plan it and you build it.

How do I know which service is right for me?

+
How do I know which service is right for me? A few questions to ask yourself: Do you have a contractor or builder you trust — or are you comfortable hiring one? If yes, Guided Design gives you the design plan and lets you (or them) handle the build. If you'd rather not manage trades, timelines, and ordering, Full-Service is built for that. How involved do you want to be? Guided Design clients stay in the driver's seat — making purchases, setting the pace, executing on their own schedule. Full-Service clients hand it off and come home to a finished space. Where are you located? Full-Service is offered in-person in select markets. Guided Design works anywhere — meet with our team online or visit us in our studio. What's your timeline? Guided Design typically wraps in weeks; Full-Service spans months, sometimes longer, depending on scope. Still not sure? Book a discovery call — we'll help you figure out the right fit, even if it isn't with us.

How much does your design services cost?

+
Guided Design is a flat fee based on the size and complexity of your space and the level of detail required. You'll receive a fixed quote upfront — no hourly billing, no surprises. Full-Service is custom-quoted based on the scope of your project. As a general rule, design services run about 10% of total project value. We have a minimum project size for Full-Service engagements; we'll confirm fit on your discovery call.

How long does a typical design project take?

+
Guided Design typically wraps in 4–8 weeks, depending on the size of your space and how quickly we receive your measurements, inspiration, and approvals. Single rooms move faster; whole-home plans take longer. Full-Service spans months — often 6 to 18 — depending on the scope of construction, sourcing lead times, and how custom your selections are. Renovations and new builds are inherently long projects, and we plan for that from day one. The single biggest variable in either case? Decision-making pace. Projects move as fast as the slowest decision, which is why we structure both services around clear approval points — so you always know what we need from you and when.

Do you work with clients outside of your local area?

+
Yes — for both services. Guided Design is built to work anywhere. Discovery calls and design reviews happen virtually, and your final plan is delivered in a format you (or your contractor) can execute from any location. Full-Service is offered nationally for the right project. Because Full-Service involves hands-on procurement, project management, and installation, we evaluate fit on a project-by-project basis to make sure we can deliver our standard of work wherever you are. We'll talk through logistics on your discovery call. Local to us? You're always welcome to visit The Workshoppe in person — to meet the team, see materials in natural light, and walk through the space.

What interior design styles do you specialize in?

+
We specialize in showstopping interior architecture — natural stone, considered millwork, and the kind of timeless detail that anchors a home for generations. Our sweet spot is historic homes and new construction with character. We're particularly good at one thing most firms aren't: designing new homes that look and feel like they've always been there — paired with the modern amenities we all know and love. Put simply: we build interiors that age beautifully.
